Riina O in blooming New York

The glove making workshop at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, back in January was so successful I got invited back a couple weeks ago in May.

This time the general 4-day introductory workshop was crafted for a much more private group, offering a rather personal, one-on-one tuition to the selected students.

In the second part of the week, for the first time ever, the advanced course in glove making was offered to the previously attended students.

While the general course concentrates on hands-on learning of the practical glove making techniques, the advanced workshop gives more space to the creativity.

The students learned to adjust their existing classical pattern into a well-fitting long opera glove and had some time to test out various decorative techniques to design their own vision of the long evening gloves, which were then cut and stitched by hand.

The Summery New York embraced with its abundance of blooms while

the Central Park showed its green wild side.

Thank you for having me!
